NRV's Proud History
For almost 60 years, NRV, Inc. has been a leading manufacturer of premium and high value veal, dairy herd and private label milk replacers. Formerly known as Real Veal, Inc., the company was founded by Royal Wessanen, a pioneer in the introduction of the first milk replacer in Holland, in the early 1950’s.
Owned and operated by Alto Dairy Cooperative for 14 years, and acquired by Delimax Veal in 2007, NRV customers now have the technology and resources of the largest Milk Replacer enterprise in the world at their fingertips.

NRV Goes Well Beyond Finished Feed
As every farmer knows, feed and its component ingredients, quality, shelf life, stability, precise blending, fat encapsulation, feeding schedule, and numerous management practices each has a profound effect on calf performance and bottom line.
NRV's Superior Fat Encapsulation System
Our technology is second to none. We employ the most effective method of transforming liquid fats into dry milk replacer. It may not sound that important but our Cold Fat Encapsulation creates greater vitamin stability and, therefore, more consistent calf performance. With this system, dry ingredients are blended then raised into a high tower where the powder floats on a cushion of super-cold air. Hot liquid fat is sprayed onto the powder as a fine mist where it crystallizes on the outside of the dry particles and encapsulates the dry particles. Cold processing is more efficient than hot processing. Mixability is excellent with this system but mixing temperature needs to be 150-155 degrees F after all the powder is added into the water. You will not use any more energy to feed calves with our milk replacer than milk replacer manufactured with some other system because you ultimately will have the same feeding temperature either way.
